My story
Sober virtuosity, lasting emotion.
From Switzerland, Dan Slutskovsky stands out as one of the singular voices of the European cello. Very present on major stages, he performs recitals, concertos and chamber music alongside leading artists — Martha Argerich, Nelson Goerner, Alissa Margulis, Aldo Ciccolini, Sergey Ostrovsky — and collaborates with leading orchestras and festivals. We could hear it at Teatro Colón from Buenos Aires, to Gstaad Menuhin Festival, to Gstaad Music Summits, as well as at Prinzregententheater from Munich to “Martha Argerich and Friends”. He also collaborated withOrchestre de la Suisse Romande And theLausanne Chamber Orchestra.
His game — simple, nuanced, intensely expressive — favors the clarity of speech and shared emotion, far from any demonstration. This requirement has been refined by great masters such as Mstislav Rostropovich, and through early encounters with Igor Oistrakh, Natalia Shakhovskaya or Vadim Rudenko. Laureate ofthe First Grand Award At Vienna International Music Competition, of gp ofthe Premio Mozart (Italy) and of 1st Prize At G. Zinetti Competition (Sanguinetto), he leads ambitious projects, designed in dialogue with programmers and musicians who invite him. In addition to his activities as a soloist and chamber musician, he is solo cello To theGeneva Chamber Orchestra (OCG), a function that he exercises with a strong sense of the collective.
Shining thanks to its Swiss roots and a resolutely international career, Dan Slutskovsky develops tailor-made programs — from major repertoires to creations — and promotes the Geneva Piano Trio, whose artistic line he designed with internationally renowned partners. The trio approaches the grand repertoire for piano trio and plays rarer pieces, with the same standards and passion that make them heard. The signature of the trio. Without replacing his career as a soloist, this collective adventure broadens his field of action for the most demanding stages and audiences.
A Landolfi from 1760: ancient stamp, present-day presence.
Brilliant musician, Dan Slutskovsky deploys the same level of excellence as a soloist, as a chamber musician and as a solo cello. He plays a Carlo Ferdinando Landolfi cello from 1760.
